Phoenix Eagle’s Medical & Scientific Advisory Committee - James F. Fries
Professor James F. Fries, MD, has been advising Phoenix Eagle on clinical matters since 2004; he was actively involved in the design of the clinical trial. Jim is Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. His remarkable career in academia spans more than 35 years at Stanford. Jim completed his Bachelor’s degree at Stanford and continued his medical studies at John Hopkins University, where he earned an MD. Jim has authored in excess of 240 articles in referred peer-reviewed journals, 50 reviews, editorials and non-referred papers. He has also authored 10 books and close to 30 book chapters. In 1991, Jim and his wife Sarah founded The James F. and Sarah T. Fries Foundation, formerly known as the Healthtrac Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to identify and honour individuals, organisations and institutions that have made great contributions to the health of the public. The Foundation awards both the prestigious Fries Prize for Improving Health and the Elizabeth Fries Health Education Award annually. The Foundation is a beneficiary of a trust set up by Mark Richardson that holds one of Mark’s original shares.
